Although the 2011-2012 Young Ambassador season has come to a close many exciting things are still in store for the Young Ambassadors.

Up next is the Young Ambassadors’ Singing Entertainers Workshop for teens!  There are two sessions July 9-14 and July 16-21.  Each week is filled with vocal workshops, auditions, dance classes, group numbers, showcase, fireside, and an entire show of campers performing songs from the current YA show!  A lot of planning is underway for these weeks to come.  YASE is an experience you will not want to miss!  For more info visit the YASE website: http://ce.byu.edu/cw/yase

Tooele and Jackson!

Flexible!
Jackson Hole, Wyoming
Another weekend, another show! Well technically two. Our first trip on Friday night took us to the Syracuse Stallions in Tooele, Utah where we had the privilege of doing workshop for the students there. There Randy taught about the different placements our voices have and how as performers we need to be exploring those and perfecting our craft. Our YA band, affectionately termed 'Bandits', also had the rare opportunity to give a band workshop to the jazz band at the high school.

We got home around midnight just to turn around the next day and head to Jackson Hole, Wyoming the next morning at 8! After the arduous yet stunning drive, we arrived in snow filled Jackson to enjoy a delicious meal at the Jackson Hole Playhouse. Then we headed over to the Off Square Theater to perform 'Harmony' for the residents of this beautiful little city.

The highlight once again was found though the next morning when we had the opportunity to sing a morning side for the Latter-Day Saints in the community. The Spirit was strong and we were all filled. We left that Chapel better people. The music was followed by a sunday school lesson, then Sacrament meeting that also happened to be a fast and testimony meeting. These meetings happen once a month and give anyone in the congregation the opportunity to stand and share their testimony and faith. We were all reminded that God loves each of us individually and knows our needs.

With that being over we boarded the buses and headed for Provo! Our bus driver Stan got us home safe and sound. :)

...and that's our last show until we head to South Africa late in April! The next big adventure we have before that will be Young Ambassador auditions for the 2012-2013 season where we will be going to China!

More info to come!

Spud Shows!

Spudtastic!

What a great weekend of performing we had in the beautiful and windy Idaho this last weekend!

We had the opportunity to perform at two venues the first at the Civic Center in Idaho Falls on Friday night then the next night in the magnificent Stephens Performing Arts Center in Pocatello near Idaho State University. Before our show on Saturday we had a workshop with some awesome students from a near by High School and Junior High where we got to workshop our voices and learn some fun dances!

The highlight of the weekend however found us in Heber, UT performing our first Fireside of the 2011-2012 season. There were tears, smiles, and a whole lot of Spirit. Thank you to all who were able to make it! Look out for our next Fireside in the De Jong Concert hall on March 25th!

Our performing season continues this weekend with performances this Friday at Stansbury Park High School on Tooele, UT, and Jackson, WY on Saturday. Hope some of you are able to make it out to our final two shows in the states for the 2011-2012 season! After that, it's
off to Africa!

Thanks for all your support for this great cause!

A Month in Review!

The Young Ambassadors started 2012 off with a bang! We jumped right back into intense rehearsals to prepare for our shows at BYU in the deJong Concert Hall. We did a lot of fun things to promote the show. We had friendly competitions to win free tickets and we even did a flash mob in the Wilk during the busy lunch hour! It was a success! We also made a music video to the song in our show “It’s Just Life.” DJB did such a great job filming the video. It became a facebook and youtube hit! All of the work promoting our show definitely paid off. We performed to a packed house every night! It was a lot of fun performing to our home audience.

Shortly after our week in the deJong we had the great opportunity to perform in St. George at the convention for the BYU Arts Partnership with local school districts in Utah. We performed a few numbers from our show. We really enjoyed our time there.

We finished out the month by heading up to Smithfield, Utah. We had an incredible workshop with the students there. In the workshop the students got a sneak peak of a couple numbers from our show. They even learned the music and choreography to “Got So Far to Go.” After the workshop we had our performance. Thanks to all of those who helped make that day such a great experience.
